UNILAG DECLARES READINESS TO PARTNER WITH ROYAL SOCIETY OF CHEMISTRY, LONDON

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Adetokunbo Sofoluwe has declared the readiness of the University to partner with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), London.

Professor Sofoluwe stated this when a four-man team from the Society paid him a courtesy visit on May 3, 2012.

While welcoming the august visitors, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated the University’s commitment to make its facilities available to the Society. He also accepted the invitation to give an address at the Opening Ceremony of the Society’s programme scheduled to begin on July 2, 2012.

The team accompanied by the Dean, Faculty of Science, Professor Wole Familoni announced the Society’s readiness to commence its programme in Nigeria.

The team explained that the programme which would run under the Society’s Pan African Chemistry Network would focus on health, water and waste management. They noted that the programme would link the academia and industry as well as boost the existing relationship between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
